The current system for using the Overlays
function is in basic form. Support includes the usage for sounds, images/gifs, and videos to be played on your streams. In the future, we have a broader system planned.
- Head over to the Overlays page to create a new overlay.
- If you have one already, you may copy the URL for your overlay using the
Copy Link
button.
- Now that you have your overlay URL, you can put this into your streaming software. Like other overlays you may have used in the past, this would normally be a browser-source of some sort.
- That's it! You are now ready to begin using IFTBT in order to send alerts to your new overlay.
- Head over to your IFTBT page to create a new event or edit a current one.
- In the dropdown for action, you will need to select "Media" in order to add audio, images/gifs, or videos.
- You can also use the Message action for showing text alerts which will show the same options as mentioned below.
- Now on the right side for "Destination" you'll either need to select "All" or the name of the overlay you want the event to be sent too.
- This is important if you want to seperate events for certain overlays depending on your current scene on your streaming software.
- Now you can tell IFTBT what to do on your overlay. You can either play an audio file, show an image or play a video.
- Here you can either use any files you have upload to your account (Pro) or point to external sources.
- You can also edit the position of the item (if a media source) or edit the colour of the banner for message items.
- Once you are happy with your event's settings, just save it as normal.
- Now you can test the event (if supported) from the Dashboard to see magic occur.
